The Circus Moves Difference
ALL AGES & STAGES
NO ROTATION STATIONS
NO “BAD” KIDS
BACKED BY SCIENCE!
Circus Moves co-directors Cynthia & Sonja combine science backed best practices with the fun and excitement of circus.

What does it all mean?
Mission-driven: Circus Moves emphasizes empowerment, inclusion, diversity, joy, perseverance, and voice as core values in all activities. Our programs use circus arts not just to teach skills, but to build self-confidence, community, and individual expression through experiential learning.
Positive-risk: We foster a supportive, non-competitive setting where safety, belonging, and emotional support are prioritized so participants can stretch beyond their comfort zones.
All Ages & Stages
Circus Moves is all ages and stages, activities are adapted real-time to meet all abilities and attitudes where they’re at. Activities are tailored to address specific stages of human development, from early childhood to senior years. Activities can and will be adapted to meet the needs of individuals with differing abilities, or even just for folks that might be having an off day.
No Rotation Stations
Circus Moves avoids rotation stations:
-
Group learning offers more opportunities for positive social-emotional experience and learning.
-
Freedom of choice is vital for supporting autonomy in group activities, especially when we are very young, or very old and expected to “do as we’re told”.
NO "BAD KIDS"
Nobody is excluded for any reason. Negative behaviors are met with consequences that support success and inclusion.
Backed by Science
Cynthia & Sonja have academic backgrounds studying the effects of circus learning on youth and human development and apply this knowledge in all program development and delivery. Check out the Circademics page for more science.
